2010 has been a breakthrough year for Left of Center after coming to the attention of the Nashville Music scene. The girls will head to Nashville mid 2012 to write with Nashville writers and record their debut album......exciting news for Kodie and Kylie and some would say well deserved after honing their song writing and performance skills together at Country Music Festivals and live pub gigs for the past 6 years.
Left of Center started making waves in the Australian Industry in 2009 with the release of their debut EP” Sitting Pretty” containing 5 originals and 2 covers. The title track” Sitting Pretty” raced up the 98.9 Australian Top 20 and was soon to gain airplay on US community radio station” Our City Radio” as well as various radio stations throughout Australia.
The girls followed up their radio success with two video clips produced by golden guitar winner Ross Wood currently being aired on Country Music Channel.
To top of the success of 2009 Kylie reached top 5 finalists in the Victorian Country Music Awards for New Talent and top 5 finalists in the Tiaras for Songwriter and Left of Center took out the Scenic Music Award for Songwriter. Their success from the album was to continue with Left of Center reaching the Top5 finalist in the revamped Queensland country music awards for Duo of the Year.
Kodie and Kylie have been concentrating this year on bringing out their unique sound. They have been hard at work gigging with their hot new band 'The 'O' Band' and are very excited to be producing a new album to be released in Tamworth 2011.
Left of Center have been regular performers at major festivals throughout Australia and New Zealand such as Mud Bulls and Music , Urban Country Music Festival , Tamworth Country Music Festival and the Bay of Islands Country Rock Festivals. With their calender filling up for next year the girls are certainly a hot act well worth following.
Left of Center has worked hard at developing their unique style and have gathered many fans along the way from as far North Queensland, the Territory and throughout South East QLD, Northern NSW and NZ. Dedication to their work and song writing have seen Left of Center grow as performers and are an act worthy of your attention and often leave the crowd wanting more long after they have left the stage.
