Dennis Marsh

2007 was a busy and rewarding year with a hat-trick of awards.

 

A Gold Album presentation for "To Get To You" presented at last May's Festival was the beginning of a string of trophies.

 

In August, Dennis won the NZ Best Selling Country Music Album of the Year.

 

November came the big surprise....the ACRA Award in Australia for the overseas section of the Australian Country Recording Artist of the Year!    This was judged by FM Broadcasters throughout Australia with NZ, USA, Canada, UK and Ireland all as contenders. 

 

A very successful tour of Perth/Kalgoorlie/Bunbury in July/August led to another tour there February 2008.

 

A fleeting three-day trip to Brisbane with a show in Logan City also had positive repercussions and Dennis and his band are back there in July 2008 for about two weeks.

 

January/February and into Manuka Recording Studio again to record two more albums making a total of 20 albums to date.....with eight Gold and two Platinum albums being achieved.

 

A songwriter from USA, Renie I. Peterson has sent Dennis a collection of her songs and for the first time, Dennis is going to record a complete original album.    Renie wrote two of the tracks on Dennis' latest album, "Walking Through My Mind".   Dennis is looking forward to the challenge of recording 10-12 of Renie's songs on one of the next two albums.  Both these are anticipated to be released at the BOI Festival May/2008.

 

Of course Dennis is still taking tour groups over to Norfolk Island and the Trans Tasman EOY and May 2008 will be the largest group he has hosted with approx 60-70 tourists from all over NZ on board.

 

Once again, the BOI Festival is one of the highlights of Dennis' performances and he looks forward to seeing all the familiar faces, all with a song in their hearts and stories to tell.
