Rewa McGregor

Rewa McGregorI have been around music most of my life although not professionally. I started playing in a band at the age of 13 (playing saxophone). During the late sixties through to mid seventies I was fortunate enough to play with a band in the Hutt Valley/Wellington area.

I became involved in country music during the mid eighties. I had reasonable success around the country in a number of awards notable around the top of the South Island. I won a number of sections in awards at Blenheim, Wairarapa, Nelson and Motueka.

I was runner-up 'overall' at Blenheim, and two years later, as part of a duo, won the 'overall' at Blenheim. I have appeared in a number of concerts around the country.

Apart from being a regular at the BOI and Hokianga festivals, I have also appeared at the following festivals; Marton, Kidnappers, Coast Country (West coast) and various motorhome rallies, the biggest being the National Rally held in Wanganui.

I recorded my first album (One step at a time) in 2005, which has been very successful for me. Since then I have produced five more CDs. I have also recorded and produced a number of albums for various other artists around the lower North Island.
