Ivo Yelavich has been entertaining in Northland for the past 48 years.
At an early age he sang in a few talent quests in the Kaitaia area. In 1963 he took up playing the drums and formed a band with the Srhoj boys called The Juniors which went on to become the very popular Luvin Scamps.
Ivo also played drums with The Buccaneers and the Northlanders.When he was 16 he took up the guitar and concentrated more on his singing.
In the early 1970s he did two appearances on Happen Inn, and made the finals of the Hansell’s Talents scope. In the late 70s he became involved in Country Music.
He was the leader of several bands, until he started performing as a solo act in 1996. Ivo recently spent five years entertaining in the Brisbane area, and is now back based in the Bay of Islands. Ivo entertains with a variety of styles, mainly Country and Rock’n’Roll, and is very popular at dances.
