Steve has been in the music scene since he was knee high to a grasshopper and has never looked back! Now a very accomplished musician he has played along side many of the great names in N.Z & Australian country music.At a very early age he dragged around an old beat up guitar while listening to old records.
By the age of 12, Steve’s passion for music flourished when he received his first electric guitar. He then launched himself into learning Shadows songs and then other cover tunes all by ear.
Eventually out of necessity he thought he would give this “singing thing” a shot, as nobody else in the band was prepared to have a go! With continued encouragement & support from his parents and teachers he began playing his first paid gigs at the age of 14.
At the age of 16 he played his first country music festival as a lead guitarist for a group at the first ever “Bay of Islands County Rock Festival” 21 years ago!
After many years of festivals, clubs, pubs, Birthdays & Weddings around NZ, Steve & his family (including the band) decided to move to Australia. They settled in Melbourne and have been carving a name into the Australian music scene.
Steve usually performs with his band “White Goat”, however this year we are in for a real treat, as he will be performing solo showing off his talents as a keen song writer and musician. If you have ever seen Steve perform, then be prepared to see another side of Steve’s talent!!
