
A talented singer/songwriter Kim is a well known artist in the New Zealand Country Music scene. He has many NZCMA Awards to his credit and has been a finalist at the NZCMA Entertainer of the Year no less than 12 times, a finalist at the NZCMA Songwriters Awards 7 times and a finalist at the Norfolk Island Trans-Tasman Entertainer of the Year Award 6 times.
Kim released his debut solo album “ Did You See Her” in 2004 which contained six original songs. A regular performer at the BOI Country Rock Festival with singing partner Annette Hawkins, Kim has shared the stage with some of New Zealand’s and Australia’s top country artists.
Since joining forces with Annette in2000 they have furthered their success in the country music field with nominations in the New Zealand Tui Awards, Kiwi Pro-am National Country Music Awards and the European Country Music Assoc. Awards.
Due to popular demand Annette and Kim released their debut duo album “ Something Between Us “ in 2008. That same year the song “ Wake Up and Smell the Whiskey “ from the album reached number 1 on the European Country Music Assoc. Radio Charts Top 100 a feat never before achieved by a totally New Zealand act. In November 2009 the song “ Chattahoochee” from the same album had reached number13.
A fan of traditional and modern country music Kim will bring a blend of old and new to his performances plus some originals that will be performed for the first time at the festival.
